I've been hoping to get out to help my friend Andrew Reynolds work on restoring his 1964 Chevy stepside pickup truck:
We cooked up a hearty breakfast, drank some coffee, grabbed a few liters of water and headed out around 9:30am to the farm for (what I was assured would be) a three-hour reassembly job.
About 5 hours later we decided to stop for lunch and a quick run to the parts store.
So we went to Hillbilly's BBQ and I got an Italian beef sub of such epic proportions it was fairly insane. However, with a nice warm hat (which also serves to protect the head when you're spending hours on end under a trick full of things to bonk yourself on), coveralls, and the farm in the background, I thought this picture might help sum up what 5 hours of backbreaking labor and heavy lugging can do to even the most mild-mannered geek.
We did finally call it a day around 7pm -- but we were able to rebuild the clutch, transmission, drive shaft, and shift, and we drove the truck home with us (the first time it's been operational since November). There's still some work to do on the clutch, but Andrew was able to drive the truck home from the farm with me in our chaser vehicle. Woo-hoo!

... all over my keyboard when I saw that pic of you. Pure gold.
Nothing missing except a bit more of a beard and a guy with a banjo in the background.
How about a current picture of that restored truck? Those trucks sure are such a classic.
